Today is a Ryan Adams kind of day…musically speaking. It’s a great song, so turn it up real loud. Oopsie, the video didn’t work. I guess that makes today a great day for The Raconteurs instead. THIS should definitely be played loud. Happy Friday! XOXOXO
Instead of a quote or recipe or any snarky commentary from the peanut gallery (moi), I’ve decided to post a song. Not just any song, but an incredible song. I think you’ll all like it very, very mucho. Happy release day Ian Axel!! Check out his album available on iTunes NOW!! Happy Tuesday!
FYI: It’s only available on iTunes today. The official drop date for the album in all outlets is February 15th.
“The best time for planning a book is while you’re doing the dishes.” – Agatha Christie
Does the same hold true if we have a dishwasher? Please say yes…
Hope you’re having an amazing day. XOXOXO
“I wrote the story myself. It’s about a girl who lost her reputation and never missed it.”
– Mae West
You so cray-cray Mae.
What’s your Main Character’s reputation like? Does it fit with their personality? Sassy, flirty, serious, angst-y? How do they behave in public? The most interesting characters have a few different sides to them, like all of us do. Just some food for thought.
“He hears the ticking of the clocks
And walks along with a parrot that talks
Hunts her down by the waterfront docks where the sailers all come in
Maybe she’ll pick him out again how long must he wait?
One more time for a simple twist of fate.”
– Bob Dylan
I like this song a lot. In fact I’m listening to it right now. What’s not to love about a man who has a one night stand with a woman he stalks and then continues to hunt her ass down by the docks? It’s a love story really. Although a simple trip to the courthouse could solve her problems. Just sayin’.
Today I’ll be locked inside a room writing until my eyes cross/bleed/fall-out. Hey, it could happen. Maybe. Anyway, this can only mean one thing… it’s iPod time! Music and writing go hand in hand, and this is the first song that popped up on my shuffle, so I thought I’d share. It’s just a segment of the song to maybe inspire you too. Or not. But the picture for this post is pretty to look at. So enjoy 🙂
“All your seasick sailors, they are rowing home
All your reindeer armies, are all going home
The lover who just walked out your door
Has taken all his blankets from the floor
The carpet, too, is moving under you
And it’s all over now, Baby Blue
Leave your stepping stones behind, something calls for you
Forget the dead you’ve left, they will not follow you
The vagabond who’s rapping at your door
Is standing in the clothes that you once wore
Strike another match, go start anew
And it’s all over now, Baby Blue” – Bob Dylan
