Quote of the day: John Lennon

“My role in society, or any artist’s or poet’s role, is to try and express what we all feel. Not to tell people how to feel. Not as a preacher, not as a leader, but as a reflection of us all.”
-John Lennon

I refuse to add anything witty about this. John Lennon is my hero.

  1. I am so glad that I got to find this site tonight. John Lennon’s Message really struck a chord with me. I have been writing for the last 3 years about life’s experiences, emotions and inspiration. It has been a way of expressing all the most incredible things that happen within a lifetime.
Our role is not to tell people, but to write of the most incredible emotions associated with our experiences of love, grief, self doubt, greed hatred & revenge, depression, suicidal thoughts, the human spirit and the so many more. He said we write as a reflection of us all. I have found this to really support how I have felt, I woke up in the middle of the night and wrote 2 verses went back to sleep, and this has continues on ever since WHY?

    1. There’s a quote by Ryan Adams that I really love Julian, maybe it will resonate with you as well:

“Once in a life, if a person chooses to go through these things, then maybe the act of writing them down could be gift, so that others might know that should they suffer their romances or their love of things, they’re not alone.”- Ryan Adams

      Keep on writing!

      1. Thank You Kerri, a lot of people have said I have an incredible gift. I must have been chosen, because I have never thought I could write about life, the way it happened for me. I decided to do something with my verses to get them out there instead of keeping them in a drawer. I have put together 47 verses from the start of life until the angels come. I am having my book called Life’s Pathway of Experiences, Emotions & Inspirations launched on 3rd October, and it is truely has been an incredible journey. Thank you again for your kind words of encouragement. The inkling of self doubt reared it’s ugly head every now and again but I have achieved to do something special with this gift. I am glad for whatever reason I have been chosen.
