hi friends! with just TEN DAYS LEFT (OMGGGGgGGGGgGG) i wanted to answer a few frequently asked questions about signed copies of ESCAPING FROM HOUDINI. here are the top questions and hopefully some good answers!
Q: i’m also ordering signed copies as gifts for friends/loved ones, can i submit extra receipts to get tarot cards for each order?
A: unfortunately, on the JIMMY books pre-order site, it limits the prizes to one set per household. BUT! you can order signed copies through Premier Collectables and they come with the full set of tarot cards. you’ll just need to place your order by the 17th. (the cards won’t be available after that.) also?? you are AWESOME.
Q: i can’t make it to an event. can i still get a signed or personalized book???
A: definitely YES! if you pre-order through any of the bookstores i’m visiting on tour, then i can sign and personalize your copy for you. the bookstore will have either a section on their site, or you may need to reach out to them to make sure they know you want it personalized too. (i.e. on the Books of Wonder order form they ask if you want it personalized before you add it to your cart.)
Q: will there be goodies at the tour stops?
A: yes! i’m bringing tarot cards to slip into books, and a TOP SECRET character playing card designed by Phantom Rin.
Q: wait!!!! how can i get one of those playing cards???
A: i’m sneaking them into books that are pre-ordered through the stores i’m visiting on tour. if you can’t make it out to an event, that’s the only other way to snag these exclusive playing cards.
Q: can i bring other books with me to an event?
A: definitely check with the bookstore about their personal policies. most ask that you either pre-order a copy through them as a “ticket” to the event, or purchase one the day of the event. i will definitely sign ALL your books, though.
Q: do i need to buy a ticket to your event?
A: no tickets are necessary, but bookstores typically ask that you purchase a book through them as your “ticket” to the signing. definitely check with them for any other individual store rules.
Q: what if i want a signed copy of STALKING JACK THE RIPPER or HUNTING PRINCE DRACULA? Will there be books available at the stores?
A: yes! there should be stock for each book in the series. definitely shoot the individual bookstores a message if you’re looking for it in a particular format, though. (i.e. they may have it in hardcover or trade paperback or mass market paperback, or only one of those formats.)
Q: what if i’m an international reader and want the exclusive/secret playing card???
A: some of the bookstores i’m visiting on tour also ship internationally, so if you order a signed or personalized copy through them, i can slip a secret playing card into your book!
Q: i submitted a pre-order form without including a receipt on the JIMMY site, did it go through?
A: unfortunately, probably not. definitely follow ALL the instructions on the pre-order prize page–you want to make sure you have a qualified entry. there’s an email address listed at the bottom of the pre-order prize site if you’ve got any questions or need to upload your receipt.
