Now…without further ado, I present my brand new title.

OF BLOOD AND SHADOW is now called….

…..

STALKING JACK THE RIPPER

*tosses confetti all over social media*

I absolutely LOVE it and sincerely hope you do too. I think it perfectly expresses my strong female lead, and how far she’s willing to go to in order to solve this case.

Here’s the official summary:

Presented by James Patterson’s new children’s imprint, this deliciously creepy horror novel has a storyline inspired by the Ripper murders and an unexpected, blood-chilling conclusion…

Seventeen-year-old Audrey Rose Wadsworth was born a lord’s daughter, with a life of wealth and privilege stretched out before her. But between the social teas and silk dress fittings, she leads a forbidden secret life.

Against her stern father’s wishes and society’s expectations, Audrey often slips away to her uncle’s laboratory to study the gruesome practice of forensic medicine. When her work on a string of savagely killed corpses drags Audrey into the investigation of a serial murderer, her search for answers brings her close to her own sheltered world.

The story’s shocking twists and turns, augmented with real, sinister period photos, will make this dazzling debut from author Kerri Maniscalco impossible to forget.

Gah! I HAVE ALL THE EXCITEMENT!

Now…on to the goodies… Since Audrey Rose writes forensic notes and has anatomical drawings in her journal, I’m giving away a Victorian-inspired journal that I’ve handwritten a STALKING JACK THE RIPPER quote in.

  1. Hmmnn…TOUGH! I love the original Psycho. Also the FIRST Wrong Turn…Also Ghosts….anything with scary ghosts…and historical pieces! Like Jack the Ripper or The Headless Horseman….all good!

    This looks awesome!

  2. Eeep! I’m so excited! Can’t wait to see a cover. I’m actually very much afraid of horror films and have read very few books in the horror genre… but if Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake counts, then that’s definitely it.

    1. thank you so much, Cookie! i cannot WAIT to share the cover with you. Anna Dressed in Blood TOTALLY counts! Kendare Blake is amazing at writing deliciously creepy horror! <3

  3. THIS TITLE IS SIMPLY AMAZINGGG. Ever since watching a documentary about Jack the Ripper (i know, what am I doing with my life?!), I’ve always been intrigued by this dude. I watched it YEARS back, so it was just simply haunting to my younger self, and I couldn’t get the pictures out of my head. Such interesting theories, too!

Ahem, the latest horror movie I’ve REALLY enjoyed was Crimson Peak. The stunning visuals and chilling setting just left goosebumps! It wasn’t that SCARY per se, but the mystery was definitely thrilling. And Tom Hiddleston is always a plus. 😛 I find that most scary movies I watch can somehow be turned into something humorous. For example, that doll rolling away by itself towards the haunted closet = me rolling away from my problems. 😀

    1. YAYYYYY! i’m so happy you love it! i am beyond words excited about it, myself 😀 the Ripper case has always fascinated me too! so many theories and possibilities and suspects! i could nerd out over it for days.

i’m treating myself to CRIMSON PEAK after copyedits! it looks SO GOOD. omg. the atmosphere is just…SWOONS. And Tom Hiddleston is definitely not a bad bonus 😀

    1. *Squeals* thank you so much, Sarah <3! hopefully i'll have some ARCs for the Sweet 16s soooooon. i'm definitely looking forward to sitting down to read YOUR beautiful book, btw. and hell yes! Poltergeist is ten thousand kinds of awesome. 😀

    1. thank you so much, Camryn! i haven’t read the Asylum books yet, but i keep hearing AMAZING things about them! i’ll have to push them towards the top of my TBR pile <3

  4. I am absolutely so, so excited for your book and can’t wait for it’s release! Though it may not be a hard-core deemed horror movie, I love “The Mummy” and can just watch it over, and over again and never get tired of it! ( Also helps that the beautiful Brendan Fraser is cast ;D )

    1. awww, thank you so much! you made my day 😀 😀 and i LOVE “The Mummy!” Anything with archeology and curses is just a big win for me. excellent choice! <3 <3
