I haven’t had the heart to write

As stated earlier on Twitter, I would like to thank each and every one of you for your thoughts and prayers this week. It has meant more to my sister and myself than you can possibly know. I haven’t had the heart to write anything this week, so I appreciate your patience during this long blog silence.

For those of you who are unaware, we found out Friday morning that my sister’s best friend was struck by two vehicles Thursday night while crossing the street and lost her life. She was just 22 years old, a recent Ithaca College graduate, had a promising career in casting (with credits at MTV) and was the brightest ray of sunshine imaginable.

She was one of those rare people that come into your life and feel like instant family. She was not only my sister’s roommate all throughout college, she was her twin soul, best friend and ally. Her loss will be felt for years to come.

Every wedding, and each new engagement, every pregnancy, tear, infectious bout of laughter or Fraggle Rock marathon will never be the same without her.

Once the hole in my chest doesn’t hurt as bad, I’ll post information on where you can donate for her memorial fund. I’m pretty sure that Ithaca College is going to set up a scholarship in her name.
